How compensation works
EU Regulation 261/2004
€250–€600 per passenger. Applies to all flights departing EU airports (any airline), plus EU carrier flights arriving at EU airports. Covers delays 3h+, cancellations under 14 days notice, and denied boarding.
UK261 (post-Brexit)
£220–£520 per passenger. Same triggers as EU261. Applies to flights from UK airports and UK carrier flights.
US DOT
Full ticket refund required for cancellations and significant delays (3h+ domestic, 6h+ international). No mandatory cash compensation for delays — but a refund must be offered.
This tool provides guidance based on publicly available regulations. It is not legal advice. Airlines may reject claims citing extraordinary circumstances — weather, ATC strikes, and security risks are common exemptions.
